Sonny Smith spent some time on the Washington amateur MMA scene where he proved to be a finisher, scoring both of his wins by TKO. His only loss to date was his first ever amateur fight where he lost by decision, so his defense and ability to keep the fight where he wants it is on point. He makes his BKFC debut with a 2-0 record in the sport of bare-knuckle and will be facing Dustin Thompson at the first ever Canadian event held by the premier BK boxing promotion in the world.
Smith has intense pressure and maintains it throughout his fights while implementing top notch defense, keeping his head off the centerline. He can take a punch if they find his chin but why would he want to if he can slip and rip with the level of success he’s demonstrated so far? Look for a real threat in this high level BK prospect in the welterweight division

Rules
Fighters are permitted to wrap and tape the wrist, thumb, and mid-hand. No gauze or tape can be within 1 inch of the knuckles.
Fighters will “Toe The Line” There are two lines, three feet apart, in the center of the ring where the fighters will start each round. The front foot will be on the line, and then the referee will instruct the fighters to “Knuckle Up” this means the beginning of the round/bout. More »
