Franco Tenaglia is an Argentinian mixed martial artist who transferred over to bare-knuckle boxing early in his professional career. He’s faced some high level competition in the BKFC such as James Lilley and Luke Nevin. Look for Tenaglia to fight on a lot of the BKFC UK cards as he is a current resident of Spain.
Tenaglia is a gritty brawler who’s fought in the trenches but maintains great technique. He grew up on the streets of Argentina and was around a lot violence and illegal activity from a young age. He leans into his rough upbringing and credits his confidence to it when he toes the line. In his own words, he’s fought in some really shady scenarios for very low pay often with no one in his corner and in a foreign land. In his past, going to someone else’s country alone to fight in bare-knuckle MMA matches where anything goes, gives him a kill or be killed mentality and his goal was always to stay alive. To do that you have to beat your opponent until they quit, and he’s done so all but one time in brutal fashion.
For Tenaglia, the BKFC is the realest and purest form of combat with the most humble of athletes. It’s insane to feel safe in the Squared Circle but the Spaniard recognizes the professionalism of the organization and gets to just focus on fighting. No thoughts of being stabbed if he beats the “wrong guy” or the ref. allowing him to take more punishment than needed, just organized violence!
