Leonardo Perdomo proudly represents Cuba although he now resides in Miami, Florida and being in the area seems to have only elevated his game. Perdomo was part of Cuba’s national boxing team and has an incredibly extensive amateur boxing career of almost 200 matches. He made his professional debut in the BKFC’s Squared Circle, and we as fans are lucky to see a force like his blossom in front of our eyes. As an opponent, if you can get out of round one against the young Cuban, you are doing better than most. In his first two professional fights, it’s been two up and two down quickly by KO in round one.
Perdomo is not what most picture when they hear “heavyweight.” This guy is 235 pounds of twisted steel and his conditioning is a real problem for anyone he is facing. Again, he hasn’t had to dig deep cardio-wise so to speak but we have to imagine the ability is there if needed. He has yet to throw just 30 strikes in a bare-knuckle bout, but as he works his way into higher rankings, that day will come.
Perdomo looks to emulate Mike Tyson and has compared himself to the greatest of all time in some boxing fans minds but it’s all out of admiration and idolization. Look for this dangerous contender to reach the top five in the heavyweight division in the near future.
