Yunus Batan is the first Turkish fighter on the BKFC roster and he’s a solid showing of his country’s toughness and talent. He made his debut at BKFC Bulgaria where he was defeated by Mladen Iliev by TKO in the third round. Batan demonstrated his accurate striking there where he was out thrown but outlanded his opponent by 20% and despite getting knocked down three times, he kept getting up until his brain wouldn’t let him walk straight.
His first performance told us a lot about his character and determination. The Turkish southpaw is somewhat of a sniper on the feet and that in combination with his chin, can spell trouble for any challengers.
Before he first toed the line in the BKFC he was a Wushu World and European Champion, Kickboxing European Champion, WAKO Kickboxing World Champion and Pankration World Champion.
To keep up with his cardio, Batan’s favorite exercises are soccer and sparring. He loves to be outside and enjoys pushing his boundaries in various aspects of life whether it be skydiving, snorkeling or pushing workouts to his limit. Batan seems to be one of these guys who strives to get the most out of life.
