Brandon Meyer has a new lease on his fighting career.
A week before Meyer’s most recent bout last year, he was informed by doctors that he needed a hip replacement.
Meyer isn’t the type to back out of a fight, so he went ahead with his in-ring commitment before undergoing the procedure.
Shockingly, the surgery itself took just 45 minutes, and Meyer was walking as soon as his epidural wore off. Less than a month later, Meyer was back in the gym and eager for a call from BKFC Matchmaker Nate Shook.
“I couldn’t be more happy with the results,” Meyer says on the eve of his hotly anticipated return to the Squared Circle.
“I’m moving better than I have in years. The pain in my hip is gone. I’m just so impressed because I feel amazing.”
Meyer has greatly altered the trajectory of his fighting career, but his goals with BKFC have remained steadfast – take big fights that lead to a BKFC World Championship. Now pain free, he’s preparing for the biggest matchup of his career. He battles Famez in welterweight action at BKFC Fight Night Miami on March 15, LIVE on The BKFC App from Vivo! Dolphin Mall.
“This is without a doubt the biggest fight of my career,” the fired-up Council Bluffs, IA product says.
“You can put whoever the (expletive) you want in front of me, and I’m going to put on a hell of a performance. That’s the statement that I want to make – I’m back and I’m ready for anything.”
