Chad Lucanas delivers fades to his opponents in the BKFC Squared Circle and his clients in the barbershop.
When Lucanas isn’t busy preparing for fights, he can usually be found cutting hair in his native Edmonton. He’s worked as a barber professionally for nearly 10 years, and recreationally even longer.
As much as Lucanes enjoys cutting hair and chopping it up with his clients, he seems to be even more passionate about bare knuckle fighting. He returns to action Aug. 31 for BKFC, the world’s fastest growing combat sports promotion, at River Cree Resort & Casino in Edmonton, LIVE worldwide on The BKFC App.
“I can’t wait to get back in there,” he says with a smile.
“I love how raw bare knuckle is, and nothing compares to being under the bright lights. It’s incredible to represent Canada and the Canadian fight scene in the newest, rawest, fastest-growing combat sport out there.”
Lucanas is looking to climb to 2-0 against Zach Pannell (1-1) in lightweight action. A second straight, first-round finish would be ideal because the 28-year-old Canadian has big goals with BKFC.
“I want to be a superstar,” he says.
“I’m just chasing the dream because I want to be a superstar.”
