Chris “Dynamite” Garcia doesn’t get paid by the hour, but he was still hoping his fight at BKFC 62 lasted a little longer.
Garcia stopped Micah Livingston in the second round of their bantamweight bout Friday at the sold-out Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, FL.
“I wish the fight lasted a little longer – it ended too quick,” the 24-year-old Clewiston, FL product says with a laugh. “But that’s just how it is; you train three months for a little more than two minutes.”
Garcia should be used to it at this point. He’s 4-0 in his BKFC career, and three of those wins came by stoppage before the fourth round.
Garcia is currently the No. 4 contender in the stacked BKFC 135-pound division. He’s hoping for a quick turnaround and is open to taking any fight that moves him closer to his ultimate goal – the BKFC World Bantamweight Championship.
“That belt will mean everything to me, but it’s more important that I get it for everybody that supports me, especially my kids,” Garcia says.
“I want my kids to look up to me. They already do, but I can’t even imagine how they’ll feel to see their daddy as World Champion. That will mean the world to me.”
