Christine Vicens has quickly risen to the top of the BKFC women’s flyweight division.
The hard-hitting Miami product is the No. 3 contender in the bustling weight class after kicking off her BKFC career with back-to-back wins. She returns to the Squared Circle against Melanie Shah, the No. 2 contender in the BKFC strawweight division, at BKFC 62 on June 21 in Hollywood, FL, LIVE worldwide on The BKFC App.
The unbeaten Vicens admits that she’s a little surprised by her early success under the BKFC banner. But what’s even more surprising is that Vicens balances her fighting career with being a mother and business owner.
Vicens’ days are long, but fighting is an important aspect of her life.
“Fighting gives me a challenge, it keeps me healthy – physically and mentally. It gives me discipline and focus,” Vicens says. “With everything else that’s going on, this is my meditation time. It gives me an hour to focus on something aside from my family and career.”
Vicens' meditations are guided by her big goals in the Squared Circle.
“I see that I can be the champion. I’ve proven myself in this sport and have worked really hard to get to this point, so I wouldn’t want to leave the sport without the belt,” she says.
“I want to prove to myself and everyone else that I’m one of the best in the world, and I want to be a pioneer of this sport because it’s growing so rapidly.”
