Combat sports legend/BKFC Partner Conor McGregor and BKFC Founder/President David Feldman hosted the first Press Conference for BKFC’s hugely anticipated debut in Spain on Thursday morning.
BKFC Spain, which features Tony "Loco" Soto (6-0) versus Franco Tenaglia (3-0) for the vacant BKFC World Lightweight Championship, goes down Oct. 12 at the iconic Marbella Arena in Marbella, Spain. The event airs globally on The BKFC App.
Here are some highlights from the action-packed Press Conference.
Conor McGregor
“Judging by the media crowd inside and the huge crowd of fans outside, Marbella is ready for some bare knuckle action. I’m very excited to be here.”
“We are here today to witness the next evolution in combat sports and nobody knows this game better than me. I conquered mixed martial arts both inside the ring and outside the ring. And today I’m here before you as the owner of the newest and most exciting addition to the combat sports universe, Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship.”
“The businesses that I own and support have always been those I believe in. I look for opportunities that mean something to me. I do not enter any business venture lightly or without serious consideration for what I can bring to the table. So, when you see my name tied to Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship you know I’m truly committed to the business and bringing it to the absolute heights of success.”
“I started out as a boxer and bare knuckle fighting is the purest form. When I saw my first event live, I was blown away by it. Dave and I started talking, I don’t just back the product, I back the people behind the product. Dave Feldman has done a stellar job with BKFC. This is a sport on the rise and with my backing I’m confident I can strap it to a rocket ship and send it right to the moon.”
“Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship is number one in the space, there is no one on this level with us. We are separate from any other entity in combat sports.”
“This is the real deal; no one in this combat sports space can speak one bad word about Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship and that for me is money in the bank. I’m not just up here as an owner, more of a player/manager.”
‘David, you built something incredible to watch, a sport like no other and I am honored to be along as an owner and a genuine fan. Thanks so much for bringing me on board. The sky truly is the limit.”
“Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship has already seen enormous growth in its fan base and viewership and with McDaddy aboard you know it’s going to rise.”
‘Money, power, respect – that’s my message to any fighter interested in joining BKFC.”
“David Feldman has such an incredible vision, he stuck to his guns throughout the entire process of building BKFC. He’s an absolute visionary. The matchmaking in BKFC’s young history has been absolutely stellar.”
David Feldman, Founder and President of BKFC
“It’s unbelievable the attention that we're getting already to bring this event to Marbella, Spain. And it will be in a bullfighting arena. Bullfighting and bare knuckle fighting go hand in hand.”
“We have Franco Tenaglia from Spain taking on Tony Soto for the BKFC Lightweight World Championship. We have Dan Chapman, who I’ve tried to sign for three years, and he’s going to be a superstar in BKFC. And former two-time women’s boxing champion, Hannah Rankin.”
“Conor is truly the rocket fuel for BKFC!”
“Absolutely we will be back in Spain, we’re going to Madrid in March or April. We love it here.”
Franco Tenaglia (3-0)
“I like to bring the madness to the ring, that’s my style.”
“I’ve fought many crazy hooligans from all over like this guy Tony Soto, he’s going to find out the real truth on October 12. You are so boring I slept through your fights.”
Tony "Loco" Soto (6-0)
“I’m used to enemy territory, I feel very comfortable here. I’m ready to fight in a bull ring, mess with the bull and you’re going to get the horns.”
“Coming from the mud, I’ve always had to prove to people who I was and I still have to prove it. It's such a great feeling to prove everybody wrong.”
