Dameko Labon is ready to go from prospect to contender.
After earning a multi-fight BKFC contract with a 21-second KO at the inaugural BKFC Prospect Series event in August, the 23-year-old Miami product returns to the Squared Circle against Jorge Bargallo at BKFC Fight Night Miami at Vivo! Dolphin Mall on March 15, LIVE on The BKFC App.
“I feel very welcomed by the fighters and the fans,” the upstart bantamweight says. “I honestly wasn’t sure how it would be with fighters who were already on the roster and the fans, but it’s been an amazing experience, and I’m just ready to put on another show.”
Labon’s lightning-fast finish in August is good for the fastest stoppage victory in the four BKFC Prospect Series events that have so far taken place. Labon doesn’t get paid by the hour, so he’s always gunning for the finish – but he stops short of predicting another blink-and-you-miss-it performance in Miami.
“No matter how long the fight lasts, fans should expect a great performance from me, because I expect that out of myself,” he says. “I’m just trying to perform to the best of my abilities and put on a great spectacle for the fans, no matter how long the fight goes.”
