James “Get Down” Brown was happy to hear Howard “HD” Davis call him out after Davis’ recent victory at BKFC Fight Night Miami.
“I was very surprised to hear that,” the Wilmington, NC fighter says.
“I’m not one to run my mouth, but I’ve been talking a little trash to the guys in the Top 5 in hopes of getting a matchup. They haven’t been giving me any attention, so I’m glad it got through to someone.”
With Davis’ second-round TKO victory over Sean Wilson in Miami, he’s 6-2-1 in the Squared Circle and the No. 3 contender in the stacked BKFC featherweight division. Brown is the No. 4 contender at 145 pounds after recently climbing to 3-0.
“I’m here to test my skills versus the best, and ‘HD’ is the best of the featherweight division,” Brown says. “It doesn’t matter the time or place; I’m ready and I’ll be looking to get my first knockout in the Squared Circle against Howard Davis.”
Brown’s prediction for a possible showdown with Davis is simple.
“I see me controlling the entire fight,” he says.
“ ‘HD’ doesn’t do well under pressure and that’s exactly what I’ll do. I already know exactly which sequence will get the job done. This could either be fight of the decade or knockout of the night.
“I’m not looking for a back-and-forth battle, so I say third-round KO. He doesn’t have the skill or IQ to defeat me.”
