Joseph Creer was more than happy to sign on the dotted line to share the BKFC Squared Circle with Joe Riggs.
Riggs is a true pioneer of BKFC, the world’s fastest growing combat sports promotion. The two-time BKFC World Championship challenger debuted for the organization at BKFC 3 in 2018. He’s also highly respected for his professional MMA career, which includes more than 30 victories by knockout and 12 bouts under the UFC banner.
“I was really excited when I got the call,” says Creer, who was also an experienced MMA fighter before dropping his gloves with BKFC.
“I feel honored to have the opportunity to square up with Joe Riggs.”
The two will meet at BKFC 63 on Aug. 3 in Sturgis, SD, LIVE worldwide on The BKFC App. Creer will look to climb to 3-1 in his blossoming BKFC career with a third straight stoppage victory.
“I have respect for all of my opponents, but I have tremendous respect for Joe’s accomplishments and I remember watching him on television,” he says.
“You know that saying, ‘Grind until your idols become your rivals?’ That’s how I’m feeling and I’m very, very excited for this opportunity.”
With all due respect, Creer hopes to use this bout as a stepping stone to his shot at the BKFC World Light-Heavyweight Championship, which is currently held by Jared “Captain Deadpool” Warren.
“I want the title, I’m going to defend it, and I’m going to show people how a champion operates,” the Columbus, GA fighter says. “You don’t have to be arrogant or cocky; you can be humble and still get your point across.”
