Mikey Furnier hopes the third time’s a charm.
He enters the Squared Circle for the third time in pursuit of his first victory under the BKFC banner at BKFC Fight Night Kansas City on Aug. 16 at Memorial Hall in Kansas City, KS. He takes on the debuting JW Kiser in heavyweight action, LIVE worldwide on The BKFC App.
The 29-year-old Wheelersburg, OH product takes his training very seriously. But, truth be told, he doesn’t exactly obsess about the outcome of his fights.
“Win, lose or draw, I go right back to work in the gym on Monday,” says Furnier, who’s been boxing for nearly half his life.
“I do something that most people could only dream about doing. I just love getting in there and fighting, regardless of the result.”
All that being said, Furnier says it’s going to feel a lot better to take home a win instead of a loss in Kansas City.
“That’s probably going to be one of the best moments of my life,” he says with a smile.
“But I really just want to put on a good show for the fans – all the people who bought tickets and all the people who are watching at home,” he adds. “I want people to know that, even if I lose, I’m still coming in there to fight to the best of my abilities and give the fans something to talk about and remember.”
