Fighters fight – and Sydney “Sundance” Smith is undeniably a fighter.
When Smith got the opportunity last week to return to the Squared Circle against fellow fan-favorite Crystal Pittman at KnuckleMania 4 on Saturday at the Peacock Theater, she was already packing her bags for Los Angeles.
“I’ve been praying for an opportunity like this,” the 32-year-old Virginia fighter says.
“She accepted the fight and the rest is history.”
History in the making, actually.
The star-studded KnuckleMania is the biggest event in BKFC history. All the stars are out – like “Platinum” Mike Perry and Thiago “Pitbull” Alves in Saturday’s Main Event – for BKFC’s groundbreaking California debut, LIVE worldwide on The BKFC App.
The stakes are high, but so too are Smith’s expectations.
“I think this fight could be a major turning point in my career,” she says. “There are going to be so many eyes on this card, and Crystal has a really big following. If I go out there and do what I plan to do, I don’t think there’s any denying that I’m one of the best out there.”
Smith’s prediction for fight night is simple.
“This fight is going to be a banger,” she says with a laugh.
“I think it’s going to be the Fight of the Night. There are so many killers on the card, but neither of us have an ounce of quit in us. It’s going to be a war from start to finish, no matter how long it lasts.”
