Ja’Far Fortt has been asking for big fights – and that’s exactly what’s waiting for him this week in the Squared Circle.
On Friday, he’ll try to climb to 4-0 with a fourth straight stoppage victory against former BKFC World Champion Elvin Brito in the Co-Main Event of BKFC Fight Night Clearwater at Bert’s Barracuda Harley-Davidson in Clearwater, FL, LIVE on The BKFC App.
“I feel confident. I’m ready to get it done. This is exactly what I’ve been asking for,” Fortt says on the eve of the biggest fight of his blossoming career.
“I don’t take Brito lightly, but I see myself as the more dangerous fighter.
“I feel like I’m one of the best in the sport,” he adds, “so it’s time to go out there and prove it.”
Fortt agrees that Friday’s Co-Main Event matchup with the former champ is a huge opportunity. In his mind, it’s the first of many on the horizon.
“Once I get through Brito, the opportunities are only going to get bigger,” he says. “This fight is going to showcase my skills and prove that I belong with the best in the world.”
Fortt doesn’t concern himself with rankings, but he does see the BKFC World Welterweight Championship belt around his waist by the end of the year.
“I’ve been a champion in life since way before I was knocking on BKFC’s door,” he says. “One of my goals with fighting is to bring home that belt, so I won’t be surprised at all when it does happen.”
